Dental emergency?
We'll see you today

Same-day emergency slots at our Jurong West and Clementi clinics — severe pain, broken teeth, swelling and more. CHAS accepted, open evenings.

Urgent situations

What counts as a dental emergency?

These situations deserve same-day attention — early treatment usually saves the tooth and avoids more complex procedures later.

😰

Severe toothache or abscess

Constant throbbing pain, pain that wakes you at night, or a pimple-like swelling on the gum usually means infection has reached the nerve — same-day care stops it spreading.

🦷

Knocked-out tooth

Time matters most: keep the tooth moist (milk or inside your cheek) and get to a dentist within 30–60 minutes for the best chance of re-implanting it.

💔

Broken or chipped tooth

A fracture that exposes the inner tooth causes sharp pain and lets bacteria in. Keep any fragments and come in promptly.

Lost crown or filling

The exposed tooth becomes sensitive to temperature and pressure, and is easily damaged further — early re-cementing or replacement protects it.

🤢

Facial or gum swelling

Swelling means infection is spreading. If it comes with fever or affects breathing or swallowing, go straight to hospital A&E.

🩸

Bleeding that won't stop

If firm pressure on gauze for 30 minutes hasn't stopped post-extraction bleeding, contact us immediately for advice and treatment.

First aid first

What to do before you arrive

Simple steps on the way to your appointment can reduce pain and improve the odds of saving a tooth.

1

Save a knocked-out tooth

Hold it by the crown, never the root. Keep it moist in milk or inside your cheek — never dry, never scrubbed.

2

Cold compress for swelling

An ice pack wrapped in a towel against the cheek, 15–20 minutes at a time, eases swelling and dulls pain.

3

Rinse with warm salt water

Half a teaspoon of salt in a glass of warm water, swished gently, keeps the area clean and soothes gums.

4

Use painkillers carefully

Over-the-counter pain relief taken as directed is fine — but never place aspirin directly on the gum; it burns the tissue.

5

Breathing trouble? Go to A&E

Difficulty breathing or swallowing, high fever with extensive swelling, or a suspected jaw fracture needs the hospital emergency department, not a clinic.

Your same-day visit

What happens when you come in

Our priority is getting you out of pain first — then explaining your options clearly so you decide what happens next.

Assessment & X-ray

Your dentist takes a short history and a digital X-ray to find the source of the pain or damage quickly.

Same-day relief

Depending on the problem: drainage, a temporary filling, re-cementing a crown, medication, or other immediate treatment — so you leave feeling substantially better today.

A clear plan

If follow-up treatment is needed (root canal, crown, extraction), we explain the options, the costs, and where CHAS or Medisave applies — then you decide.

Common questions

Emergency care FAQs

Can I get a same-day dental appointment in Singapore?

Yes. Trust Dental keeps same-day emergency slots at both clinics every day. WhatsApp 8666 6759 (Jurong West) or 8666 8035 (Clementi) with a short description of your problem and we will fit you in as soon as possible — the Jurong West clinic is open until 8:30pm Monday to Thursday.

What counts as a dental emergency?

Severe or persistent toothache, facial or gum swelling, a knocked-out or loosened tooth, a broken or chipped tooth, a lost crown or filling, and bleeding that does not stop after an extraction are all dental emergencies worth same-day care. Acting early usually saves the tooth and stops infection from spreading.

How much does an emergency dental visit cost?

It depends on the treatment needed: fillings are $85–$180, simple extractions from $150, root canal treatment from $650, and crowns $1,200 (all before GST). CHAS subsidies apply for eligible card holders, and Medisave can be used where surgical extraction is required. We explain all costs before treating.

What should I do with a knocked-out tooth?

Hold the tooth by the crown (not the root), rinse it gently with water if dirty — do not scrub. If you can, place it back in the socket and bite gently on gauze; otherwise keep it moist in milk or inside your cheek and see a dentist within 30–60 minutes for the best chance of saving it.

When should I go to the hospital instead of a dentist?

Go straight to A&E if you have difficulty breathing or swallowing, extensive facial swelling with a high fever, or trauma with a suspected jaw fracture. These need hospital-level emergency care beyond what a dental clinic can safely manage.
