What are Dental Implants?
Dental Implant is a tooth replacement appliance that is made up of medical-grade titanium which will be inserted into the jaw bone to replicate the function of an actual tooth.
In recent years, dental implants are a popular choice in Singapore for replacing missing
teeth. This is because dental implants does not require the trimming of any of your
natural teeth. The implant is independent and functions just like your
own teeth. As it is fixed in your jawbone, the maintenance of the dental implant is easy with
flossing and brushing. Of course, regularly dental check up is also
important to keep your dental implant and surrounding gums clean and healthy.
A dental implant is made up of 3 components -CROWN, ABUTMENT and FIXTURE
Each implant is specially customised to suit the patient's oral condition. For example, the dental implant crown comes with a few materials that you can choose from namely - Zirconia and PFM (Porcelain Fused Metal). Each material comes with its pros and cons but not to worry! Our dentists are trained to advise you on which material will be more suitable for your needs.

We can use implants in a few different methods to help you achieve the most ideal teeth replacement results.
What is a Single Tooth Implant
The most common of dental implant cases that we often encountered. After a thorough oral examination and if the patient is suitable for a dental implant, our dentist will proceed to replace the void left by the missing tooth with a dental implant. This whole surgery usually takes about 30-60mins and the patient will be able to leave the clinic after the end of the surgery.

What is a Dental Implant Supported Bridge
When missing multiple teeth, a dental implant supported bridge will be very helpful for this situation. For example, a patient is missing 3 teeth in a row. Instead of having 3 single dental implant. A dental implant supported bridge consists of 2 single dental implant and a 3 unit dental crown will be able to achieve similar results for a more affordable price! The bridge will be supported by 2 dental implants anchored on both ends of the dental bridge.

What is a Dental Implant Supported Dentures
For patients who are missing a whole set of teeth and they are unable to get used to wearing a full set denture, an implant supported denture might just be the solution they need.
Depending on their oral condition, one might need 2-4 dental implants to be inserted into their jawbone. Thereafter, a full arch denture will be placed on top of the dental implants keeping the full arch denture firmly in place.

What is a Pro Arch / All on 4 Dental Implants
This treatment is designed for patients who are missing multiple teeth or are in need of a full arch restoration. It utilizes a combination of dental implants and fixed dental prostheses to provide a secure, functional, and aesthetic replacement for natural teeth.
The Pro Arch solution typically involves placing four or more implants in the jawbone, which serve as a stable foundation for a full dental bridge or overdenture. This technique is often referred to as "All-on-4" when exactly four implants are used, though the number can vary depending on the specific needs and bone conditions of the patient.

Dental Implant Consultation & 3D Xray
During the initial dental implant consultation, our state-of-the-art facility utilizes an in-house 3D X-ray to meticulously assess your oral structure. This critical step helps us determine your candidacy for dental implants and whether additional procedures like bone grafting or sinus lift might be necessary. Following the imaging, our dental surgeon will engage in a comprehensive discussion with you about the proposed treatment plan.We will provide a detailed overview of the dental implant procedure, financial planning, including what you can expect during the surgery, the healing process, and the outcomes. This session is designed to ensure you are fully informed and comfortable with the forthcoming steps in your journey to a restored smile.
Preparatory Procedures (if necessary)
Tooth Extraction: If there is an existing tooth where the implant will be placed, it may need to be extracted prior to implant placement. Bone Grafting: If the jawbone lacks sufficient density or volume to support the implant, bone grafting may be required. This procedure involves adding bone material to enhance the implant site and requires an additional healing period. Sinus Lift: In cases where dental implants are needed in the upper jaw and there is insufficient bone height near the sinuses, a sinus lift may be performed. This involves elevating the sinus membrane and placing bone graft material beneath it to support the implant.
Dental Implant Surgery
Before commencing the implant surgery, the patient will receive local anesthesia to ensure comfort and a pain-free experience in the area where the implant is to be placed. The dental implant fixture is then meticulously and surgically inserted into the jawbone.
After the implant has been securely positioned, a critical healing phase of typically 2-4 months follows. This period allows the jawbone to naturally integrate with the implant, a process known as osseointegration. Throughout this time, the implant will fuse with the bone, creating a stable and durable foundation for the new tooth.
Additionally, for patients seeking immediate results, a same-day crowning option is available upon request, allowing for the placement of a temporary crown on the same day as the implant surgery.
Dental Implant Crown
Following the osseointegration period of 2-4 months, during which the implant securely fuses with the jawbone, a follow-up appointment is scheduled.
At this session, the next phase involves the precise fabrication of a custom-made dental implant crown. This crown is designed to match the natural color, shape, and function of your teeth, ensuring a seamless integration with your smile. Our skilled dental team will meticulously tailor the crown to fit comfortably and aesthetically with your existing teeth, enhancing both the functionality and appearance of your dental implant
Regular Checkups
After the successful placement of the crown, regular check ups are crucial to ensure the long-term success of your dental implant. These sessions allow our dental team to monitor the implant, surrounding gums, and overall oral health, ensuring everything remains in optimal condition.
During these visits, we provide guidance on proper oral hygiene practices specifically tailored to care for your new implant. Regular check-ups are an essential part of maintaining the health and aesthetics of your implant, helping to detect any potential issues early and keeping your smile looking its best
